1886-1968: A seal engraver of the Taisho and Showa periods.
Born December 31, 1886. He became the director of the Fujii Yurinkan in Kyoto, where he researched ancient Chinese seals. After retirement, he devoted himself to seal engraving and became a central figure in the Kyoto seal engraving community. He founded the Japan Calligraphy Institute and the Kyoto Calligraphy Federation. He died August 25, 1968, at the age of 81. He was from Shiga Prefecture.
