It is a heaven located 240,000 yojanas above the peak of Mount Sumeru, and is filled with bliss. The natural life span is 4,000 years, and one day and night in this heaven is equivalent to 400 years in the human world. It is said that Maitreya Bodhisattva resides here, and it is called Maitreya's Pure Land.
The palace of the Seven Treasures has two courts, an inner one and an outer one. The inner court is said to be the final residence of the bodhisattva who will one day become a Buddha, and the outer court is said to be a place of entertainment for the emperors who are his followers. Shakyamuni once lived here and descended to the earth from here. Currently, Maitreya preaches here and has made it Maitreya's Pure Land, and it is planned that he will descend to the earth from here in the distant future. The belief in rebirth under Maitreya and receiving his guidance in Tushita has been around for a long time, and there has been a debate over whether this is superior to rebirth in Amida Buddha's Pure Land.
