Collection of Joruriji Temple
It was discovered inside the wooden seated statue of Amida Nyorai at Joruri-ji Temple in Kyoto, and was printed using 100 copies of woodblocks. The appearance of each statue is slightly different, which pleases the viewer.
It is believed to have been produced around the beginning of the 12th century, and is famous
as the earliest example of Japanese Buddhist prints.
