A monk from the Sengoku period and early Edo period.
Founder of the Nichiren sect's Fujubuse school. His pen names were Busshoin and Ankunifusa. A native of Kyoto, he studied under Nichiten at Myokaku-ji Temple. In 1595 (Bunroku 4), he clashed with the Jujuse school within the sect over attendance at the memorial service for a thousand monks held by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and retreated to Tamba. In 1599 (Keicho 4), he did not attend the Sensokai held by Tokugawa Ieyasu at Osaka Castle, and was exiled to Tsushima. Thirteen years later, he was pardoned and returned to Kyoto, where he resided at Myokaku-ji Temple and preached the doctrine of Fujubuse. His works include "Shugi Seihoron" (Theory of the System of Righteousness and Protection) and "Shugo Seigiron" (Protection and Justice). Eiroku 8 - Kanei 7 (1565-1630)
