It means that the earth is filled with blessings in line with the heavens, and it is auspicious. Originating from Bugaku, or "Manshuuraku," it was given the nickname "Tenchi wa Go Raku" and became popular in the mid-Edo period as a New Year's calligraphy piece and a ball-ball song.
[Emperor Gosai] 1638-1685 Early Edo period, 111th emperor. He reigned 1655-63. Born on November 16th, 14th year of Kanei. He is the eighth prince of Emperor Gomizunoo. His mother is Fujiwara Ryuko (Ohshunmonin). He ascended to the throne after his half-brother, Emperor Gokomyo. His father, the emperor, runs the cloistered government. He abdicated due to a succession of misfortunes, such as the Great Fire of Meireki in Edo, the burning of the Imperial Palace, earthquakes, storms and floods in various countries. He made copies of the records of the Imperial Palace, which became the basis for the Higashiyama Imperial Library. He passed away on February 22, 1888. he is 49 years old. His grave is Tsukinawa Mausoleum (Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City). His childhood name is Hidemiya. His personal name is Yoshihito. His aliases are Prince Takamatsu, Prince Momozono, and Prince Hanamachi. His collection of poems is ``Suihishu,'' and his diary is ``Gosaiin Goki.''
