1629-1709 Ming (China) monk.
Born on August 22nd, 2nd year of Chongjing. Obaku sect. Came to Japan in 3rd year of Meireki. Studied under Mokuan Shoji and Ingen Ryuki. Later, in the 2nd year of the Houei period, he became the chief priest of Manpuku-ji Temple in Yamashiro (Kyoto Prefecture), following the teachings of Seixin. He was known as a calligrapher. He died on July 29, 6th year of Hoei. he is 81 years old. Originally from Fujian. His verses include 'Etsuzan Zenji utterances'.
