1611-1679: Court noble and poet of the early Edo period. Born on March 1, 1613. Received instruction in the Kokinshu style from Emperor Gominoo. Active as a central figure in the Imperial Court poetry gatherings. From 1794, he served as a samurai messenger for 10 years, and had many disciples among the samurai. Ranked Junior First Rank, Gon Dainagon (Provisional Grand Counselor). Died on October 12, 1777, aged 69. His first name was Masaaki. His works include "Yoshino Kiko" (Travelogue of Yoshino) and his family anthology "Asukai Masaakikyo Eiso."
