The recipient, Kamo Matsushita, refers to the Matsushita family, one of the families of shrine officials at Kamigamo Shrine. In exchange for the fiefs of Mahata Village and Kumazaki Village in Lake Tanshu (present-day Nantan City) that the Matsushita family had owned, the family was to be given a fief of 20 koku in Kannonji, Funai County, the same province (present-day Kyotanba Town, Funai County).
【Toyotomi Hideyoshi】A military commander of the Azuchi-Momoyama period. His childhood name was Hiyoshimaru, and his first name was Kinoshita Tōkichirō. He was from Owari Province (Aichi Prefecture). He initially served Matsushita Yukitsuna, but later achieved military success under Oda Nobunaga, and was highly valued, changing his surname to Hashiba. While conquering the Chugoku region, he heard of the Honnoji Incident and defeated Akechi Mitsuhide at the Battle of Yamazaki. He later made peace with Tokugawa Ieyasu, and achieved unification of Japan by pacifying Shikoku, Kyushu, the Later Hojō region, and Oshu. In 1585 (Tenshō 13), he became Kanpaku (regent), and the following year he became Grand Minister of State, changing his surname to Toyotomi. He conducted the Taiko land survey, attempted to separate soldiers from farmers, and promoted the unification project. In his later years, he again sent troops to Korea.
