A military commander in the Azuchi-Momoyama and early Edo periods. Lord of Yanagawa Castle in Chikugo. Serving Toyotomi Hideyoshi, he played an active role in the Bunroku and Keicho Wars. He fought on the Western side at the Battle of Sekigahara, but was defeated. He later served Tokugawa Ieyasu. After the Summer Siege of Osaka, he returned to his position as lord of Yanagawa Castle.
