1556-1630: A daimyo of the Azuchi-Toyotomi and early Edo periods.
Born on January 6, 1652. Served under Azai Nagamasa, Hashiba Hidenaga, and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. After Hideyoshi's death, he became close to Tokugawa Ieyasu, and distinguished himself on the Eastern Army at the Battle of Sekigahara. He served as lord of Imabari Domain in Iyo (Ehime Prefecture) until 1616, when he became the first head of the Todo clan to rule Ise-tsu Domain. He was awarded a stipend of 323,950 koku. He helped Ieyasu, who was struggling at the hands of Sanada Yukimura during the Summer Siege of Osaka. He died on October 5, 1624, at the age of 75. He was from Omi (Shiga Prefecture).
