A poet from the end of the Edo period. Her name was Nobu. She was born in Kyoto. After losing her husband and other relatives one after another, she became a nun. She was commonly known as Rengetsuni. She lived a pure and solitary life, making a living by firing ceramic pieces with her own poems written on them. She wrote many delicate and feminine descriptive poems, making her one of the leading female poets of the end of the Edo period, along with Nomura Motoni.
