This letter from Emperor Gomizunoo is addressed to his adopted son, Prince Hachijo Tomotada. Prince Tomotada became Emperor Gomizunoo's adopted son in 1624, and became Minister of the Interior in 1629. The letter states that the rice cakes have been pounded and will be sent to accompany the Emperor's visit to the palace.
