The addressee, Uemura Ushu, was Uemura Iemasa, who was a hatamoto in the early Edo period and later became the first lord of the Yamato-Takatori Domain.
This is to express gratitude to Uemura, who is going to Edo in the near future, and to offer him a visit when he comes to Kyoto next spring.
Sowa Kanamori was a master of the tea ceremony in the early Edo period and the founder of the Sowa school.
He entered the priesthood at Daitokuji Temple and interacted with Kobori Enshu and others.
He was popularly called "Hime Sowa" because of his graceful and refined style of tea ceremony.
