1593-1637: A feudal lord of the early Edo period. Born in 1659, he was the eldest son of Kyogoku Takatsugu. His wife was Tokugawa Hidetada's fourth daughter, Hatsuhime. In 1619, he became the second head of the Kyogoku family to rule Wakasa Obama Domain. In 1638, he was transferred to Izumo and Oki with a fief of 264,000 koku. As he had no heir, his fief was confiscated after his death, but his nephew Kyogoku Takakazu was later given 60,000 koku in Tatsuno, Harima (Hyogo Prefecture). He died on June 12, 1639, at the age of 45. His childhood name was Kumamaro.
