Son of Kito Michiyoshi, who was said to be the leading figure in Buddhist painting in the Meiji Chukyo art world. Born in Hinode-cho, Nagoya. Nicknamed Ryuzaburo. He first studied painting under his father Michiyoshi and Hibino Hakukei of the Tosa school, and later moved to Tokyo to study under Hashimoto Gaho. Lived in Hakozaki-cho, Nihonbashi, Tokyo. Received six consecutive commendations from the 3rd Domestic Exposition. Specialized in Buddhist painting and portrait painting. Later in life, he returned to his hometown of Nagoya. Japanese painter.
