1866-1942 Designer from the Meiji to early Showa eras. Born January 12, 1866. Studied Shijo school painting under Suzuki Mizuhiko and craft design under Kishi Keiji. Became a teacher at Kyoto City School of Arts and Crafts in 1905. Founded the Katsubi-kai in 1907 and contributed to the development of the world of craft design. Died January 4, 1942, aged 77. Born in Kyoto. Real name Yoshitaka. Written works include "Ten Types of Butterflies" and "Sea Route".
